By withdrawing and recycling certain packaging materials during 2009, Neways achieved a CO2 emission reduction of 20 tonnes, which is equivalent to the CO2 emissions of nine VW Golfs traveling an average of 10,000 miles.

Neways’ achievement was endorsed by a team of independent experts from the Institute for Energy and Environmental Investigation in Heidelberg, Germany. According to this organization, “Neways has again played a pivotal role in reducing the use of raw materials and energies in the production of its new products and, as a consequence, made a valuable contribution to climate protection.”

Now, Jared and his wife Claire, who is also a race walker, are preparing to compete in the Commonwealth Games this October in New Delhi. “It would be a dream come true for both of us to bring home gold medals for Australia,” Jared said. Both he and Claire recently won gold medals at Australia’s National 20-kilometer Walk Championships.

“The Take Charge Tour was a wonderful opportunity to learn, celebrate, motivate, and reignite our Neways spirit,” said distributor Marry Hendrickson. “We were given models, tools, and knowledge to share Neways and build strong businesses.”

Managing director Thierry Sorhaitz went from coast to coast visiting areas such as New York City and Torrance, California, and he also held meetings in Hawaii and British Columbia, Canada.

At each stop, this tour included a 30-minute company overview for new prospects, followed by three hours of training for Neways business builders. After a short break, Sorhaitz would then take the wheel and give his three-hour training.

Four months before the Deaflympics, a truck hit Reece-Emerson while he was training on his cycle. SPRINGVILLE, UT (Sept. 2, 2009)—Neways’ Utah employees recently joined forces to help each other prepare for the new school year by gathering and redistributing school clothes and supplies during a sharing event. Not only did employees save money on school preparations, but they also helped the environment by putting used items back into circulation instead of discarding them.

During the week leading up to the sharing event, employees donated more than 30 bags of used clothing. In addition, Neways donated 600 backpacks loaded with school supplies, and employees donated brand-new items such as fleece jackets, hoodies, and school supplies.  
 
At the sharing event, employees and their children picked out school clothes, and each employee received two Neways backpacks filled with office supplies. In addition, volunteers provided lunch bags, totes, TrueTouch® makeup, treats, and healthy lunch ideas.
 
After the employee-sharing event, Neways donated backpacks to two groups of Somalian refugee children and gave the event’s leftover clothes to a shelter.
