SPRINGVILLE, UT (August 27, 2009)—Neways recently held the first general meeting of the Purple Lotus Club, the company’s new initiative in Japan that unites women to inspire change through the power of friendship. While only 260 seats were available for the event, more than 500 women registered to attend.
“The first official meeting in Tokyo was evidence of the power of women in their activities to change people’s lives through health, lifestyle, and communities,” said Jennifer Wolbers, Neways’ vice president of sales and marketing.
Held at the Kudan Kaikan Hotel in Tokyo’s Chiyoda district, the Purple Lotus Club meeting featured guest speaker Michiko Imai, a famous female mountain climber who spoke about always challenging oneself.
In addition, Wolbers and Neways Japan managing director Hiromi Toda addressed the assembled women. Reporting on local Purple Lotus Club activities, Neways members described how they have participated in classes on cooking, floral arranging, exercise, and yoga.
“The Purple Lotus Club was started as the shared vision of Neways’ top distributor leaders and management,” said Toda Hiromi, managing director for Neways Japan. “The vision is to create a social network where women can share personal experiences and ideas to improve the lives of everyone around them. This organization gives people the ability to create healthy homes and have fun while doing it.”
The next Purple Lotus Club event will be held in November 2009.
