Students of the Neways Academy and villagers of Touban lined up to welcome delegates from Mali Rising Foundation.

“We are grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in this effort,” said Colette Dahl, coordinator of the project for Neways. “Our executives, markets, and distributors were an amazing support and we’re so proud of their contribution to the project. They really encouraged our continued participation and we know they are proud to be involved with a company that gives back in a significant way.”

According to UNICEF, secondary school attendance in Mali for males is 35% while females attend at a rate of only 24%. Mali ranks 182 out of 187 countries on the Human Development Index which measures health, education, and income. The World Factbook lists Mali among the 15 poorest nations in the world.

“I wish I could adequately express the appreciation of the villagers and students,” said Fred Johnson, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Mali Rising Foundation. “To be present at the dedication is a great honor—the children sing and the whole village expresses their gratitude. For these students, Neways Academy will help them, and in turn the country of Mali, move forward in a positive direction. We are all so thankful to Neways and their supportive distributors.”

Apart from making education more accessible to local children, the school’s construction also provided jobs to Malian villagers, who provide the land and help to build, maintain, and teach at the school.

SPRINGVILLE, Utah (Oct. 26, 2012) – Recently, Neways announced the launch of FitChoice, a comprehensive weight-loss solution designed to fit each individual’s unique situation and lifestyle. FitChoice’s product lineup focuses on specific issues that can cause weight problems, and the FitChoice program offers support tools that take a body-and-mind approach to weight management.

“Many programs designed to deal with weight management ignore the mental component associated with changing destructive habits and adopting a new lifestyle,” said Jennifer Wolbers, vice president of sales and marketing. “FitChoice embraces both physiological and mental needs to deliver the tools the user needs to succeed. Simply put, FitChoice removes the uncertainty and gets each user started on their customized way to a better, more fulfilling, and healthy lifestyle.”

FitChoice’s two-fold approach is designed to help users implement mindful eating habits and learn to set goals that produce optimal results for their specific needs.

“FitChoice is truly a unique option in weight management today,” said Colette Dahl, brand manager of FitChoice Weight Management. “Starting with a simple self-assessment on fitchoice.com, users can find their specific eating type and their level of comfort with lifestyle change and then access products and support tools that support a comprehensive body and mind solution.”

FitChoice is composed of six products divided into separate system approaches that address emotional eating, environmental eating, and mindful eating habits. Each product pack is specifically formulated to address these eating habits.  The program also offers menus, exercise routines, goal setting, and other tools customized to each individual’s level of comfort with lifestyle change.

“Along with powerful new products, FitChoice also offers a significant business opportunity to our distributors,” Wolbers said. “FitChoice represents our commitment to providing our distributors with the best opportunities to grow their Neways business. With the unique and highly shareable self-assessment, it is easier than ever to spread the word about the phenomenal products and opportunity of FitChoice. We are already seeing people who have positively transformed their lives with this program.”

With this change, all back-office functions within Neways report directly to Crump, including legal, regulatory, human resources, quality, operations, and information technology. As CAO, Crump will review and develop companywide administrative policies, negotiate new and existing contracts, and help communicate Neways’ strategic development plans to key stakeholders. Prior to this appointment, Crump was serving Neways as vice president, general counsel.

“With our renewed focus on growth and opportunity, we’re aligning our executive management team to support the company’s vision and mission,” said Robert Conlee, chief executive officer of Neways. “Chris has an exceptional track record of over 15 years with Neways, and we’re pleased to have him on board in this new role. With his experience and in-depth understanding of the Neways business, he’ll play a crucial part in determining the company’s strategic direction.”

During his time as chief legal counsel at Neways, Crump was responsible for all legal and compliance functions of the company. He also headed Neways’ lobbying and government relations efforts. Some of his major accomplishments include facilitating the sale of the company in 2006, establishing the “Zero Complaints” compliance program in Japan, and playing a vital role in the successful completion of the company’s restructuring and transition to new ownership.

“This is an exciting time for all of us at Neways,” said Crump. “Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the most talented and amazing people here at Neways. I look forward to continued partnership as we deliver the best possible products and business opportunities to our incredible distributors.”

Additional organizational changes:

Kevin Lindholm was named as director of application development. In his new role, Lindholm is leading the development of a new best-of-breed order-entry system to support Neways’ global distributor force. In addition to his new responsibilities, Lindholm continues to lead the development of Neways’ global-seamless commissioning engine and oversee the development and global rollout of the company’s new data-warehouse and business-intelligence systems.

David Sokolowski is now the director of enterprise infrastructure. In this role, Sokolowski continues to develop global standards around security, telephony, and business continuity. He will also complete Neways’ disaster-recovery initiative.

Kelly Rich has been appointed as director of global market support. She continues to lead the company’s business analytics and market-research activities, which provide crucial data to support Neways’ Australian, New Zealand, European, and North American markets.

Colette Dahl has assumed the responsibilities of brand manager. She manages Neways’ FitChoice weight-management system, including positioning and marketing, market brand supervision, creative initiatives, and helping with website development. She continues to lead corporate public-relations activities for Neways.

“These changes are incredibly exciting for the company,” said Conlee. “Each of these individuals brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to help drive our continued growth and raise Neways’ stature as a leader in the direct-selling industry. These promotions are richly deserved, and these leaders will help guide Neways into the future.”

Neways Europe Recognized for Greenhouse Gas Reduction

SPRINGVILLE, Utah (Sept. 7, 2012) – Recently, Neways Europe was awarded an official certificate of recognition by the Grüner Punkt (Green Dot) recycling program for reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 12.561kg of carbon dioxide in 2011, approximately equal to the annual carbon dioxide emissions generated by seven two-person households.

“This is an acknowledgement of our smart and effective environmental initiatives, especially those in Europe,” said Jennifer Wolbers, managing director of Neways Europe. “Neways is actively looking for ways to improve its operations by making them more environmentally friendly. We are proud to be recognized for our achievements.”

Green Dot is the flagship recycling program of Duales System Deutschland (DSD), a Germany-based recycler. Green Dot uses more than 400 municipal and private waste-management firms to collect and recycle discarded packaging. All certifications are independently verified by experts at the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (IFEU) in Heidelberg, Germany.

“Environmental conscience is an integral part of our Healthy Homes philosophy,” Wolbers said. “Participation in programs such as Green Dot helps us identify and implement best practices that help Neways operate in more environmentally sustainable ways.”

Participation in the Green Dot program is one of several such initiatives undertaken by Neways markets all over the world. Last year, Neways established an environmental council to highlight its commitment to environmental protection through innovative corporate-level initiatives. Staffed by employees from many different departments and disciplines, this council is now working to help Neways reduce its carbon footprint.
